Sourtoe Chronicle: The Toe is done!

The Toe is done!

It's amazing ... enlightening ... how a mummified human toe in your mouth can change your outlook. We have imagined this night for a long, long time ... and now it is done and we are different people in a small way. A risk ... a journey ... that others won't take, and a story that not everyone can tell.

And the drinking was fun, too.

Congratulations to you both and I'm glad you made the trip! Looking forward to seeing more pics too!
We watched a movie the other night filmed between Yellowknife and Belhurst(?)--way up North. Is there road up that far? Are you planning any plane trips?
Good luck!

Today we head north on the famous Dempster Highway, the only highway in Canada that crosses the Arctic Circle. It's a dirt-and-gravel road and we'll follow it for more than 300 miles to Fort McPherson in the Northwest Territories, where we'll spend June 21 -- the longest day of the year -- under 24-hour sunlight.

Maybe we'll take a nap. After The Toe, I need it.

I think I see the making of another book? Glad you two had a good time and made some cool memories.Over the years the toe will get bigger?
